Using Travel Bags For Craft Supplies For Vacations Or On Road Trips

I am so excited I found a nice size travel bag to fit my coloring supplies in while on the go or to use at home. It is a Yeiotsy travel bag that measures approximately 8-1/2"L x 5-1/2W x 5-1/2"H filled. The entire set of Spectrum Noir Colorista markers fit in this bag along with a couple 5x7 Spectrum Noir Colorista coloring pads. There is plenty of room to fit more in this bag as you can see from the pictures. It is reasonably priced at 8.99 with Amazon's Prime shipping. The opening of the bag opens up wide to easily put your supplies in or take them out. It has a carrying handle at each end of the bag. There are 5 colors to choose from. I think I'm going to pick up another one. It is so nice to just be able to have everything in one place. When your on the go you can put it in your tote with everything secured in the bag with the zipper closure. 
This would also be nice for kids supplies when going on road trips or vacation.

Diamond Press Word Die Storage

Diamond Press Word Die Storage I am using a Diamond Press Die Storage Binder. I cut out each word and adhered it on the magnet sheet. Then I placed the die under the corresponding word. I color coded them so I know which set they came from for posting projects on my blog.  Then when writing up my blog posts I can pass that information along to you.  The white is the Diamond Press Cardmaking dies. 

The blue are the Diamond Press Party dies. By having the words cut out and adhered to the magnet sheet I know exactly what the word looks like cut out for when I want to use them in my projects.

I have my ribbon organized in the Totally Tiffany Edna Buddy Bags. 
I really like these buddy bags by Totally Tiffany. 
My ribbon is so nice and organized now. I am really happy with the results.

Totally Tiffany Teresa Buddy Bag Storage Ideas

I purchased the Teresa Buddy Bags By Totally Tiffany. While I was looking for things to put in it. I came up with the idea of storing my EK Success Mini Punches in there. It fits 13 punches of the new style punch.

It can also be used for Storing Martha Stewart 0.37 Glitter

You can store the .5 oz of Stickles Glue Glitter.

The 1 fl. oz. bottles of Stickles are too big for the Teresa Buddy Bag

This also works for some brands of Nail Polish.

This bag also works nice for the re-inkers for your stamp pads.

Anna Griffin Mix and Match Cuttlebug Embossing Folders

My Anna Griffin Mix and Match Embossing Folders arrived! I put the sentiments in 3"x3" zip lock bags. ... I labeled each zip lock bag with the name of the Sentiment was. I labeled the folders sleeves with the name of the Anna Griffin folder.

5" x 7" Embossing Folder Storage with matching Border

I recently got some of the Anna Griffin embossing folders and cricut embossing folders.
Some of these have matching borders to go with the 5"x7" folder.

I purchase several Really Useful Boxes 3L capacity. They work perfectly for storing these embossing folders. I created folder files in Cricut Craftroom design software. I used From my kitchen cartridge.

 

 

 

 

For the cuttlebug companions I numbered each file folder to coordinate with the companion embossing folder sets.

 

 

 

 



 

For the Anna Griffin embossing folders I put the name of the folder on the file tab.

These folders have the names of the embossing folder right on the folder.

Then in the file folder divider I made a pocket in back to hold the coresponding border folder.

I store other Cricut embossing folders with matching borders this same way.

 

I absolutely love these Really Useful Boxes!!

Teapot Plaques and Decorative Holders

Well I had to go back to the drawing board. My daughter liked the teapot plaque so much she asked me if I could do another one. Only flip the Teapot the oposite direction. I said I could do this.
Then she asked if she could have my decorative holder. I said I could make another one.
I'm just happy she liked them so much. I do have to admit 2 teapots are better then one.
I had my GD help me with the 2nd one. She really enjoyed painting the teapot plaque.
Here is my daughter's house warming present. 2 teapot plaques and a decorative holder.
I think these 3 pieces look good on stands too.  So now it is settled this is my daughter's house warming present!!!  She is very grateful and appreciative that I made these for her.

I'm keeping them for decorative Craft room storage!!

I'm might bling up the 2 side holders more. I just have decided yet.

I know sometimes when I post things on my blog.

I see things in a different light and make some changes.

Decorative Holder

I picked up this holder piece at Michaels. I decorated it up and this is what I got.
I'm going to use it for my crafty supplies. The beads, ribbon and lace I got at Walmart.
The holder and butterflies I got at Michaels.

Basket Storage

I came up with a decorative tool caddy. I had a blue round one on my table. I was at Michael's and found some cute baskets that I am using for storage now.  I really, really like them.  I love using baskets to deocrate my room and use the for storage.

 I had some small boxes that I fit inside the basket to divide it into sections and keep the tools seperate

I really like this better for a tool caddy then the ones specifically made for this.

Then on the right I have a smaller basket that I use for the rest of my craft supplies.

I have some bigger baskets that I got from Michaels and Walgreens.

The purple baskets are from Micahels, and the tan baskets are from Walgreens.

I have my books seperated in  groups in the basket according to subject.

One basket is for Sketch books, another for heritage scrapbooking, one for quotes and page titles and another one for magazines.

I wish Michaels had some more smaller purple or pink baskets like this cause I would have bought more.

I love the accent of the fabric lined baskets for added interst to the Craft Room.

Tool Kit

I have the Cricut Tool Kit. I really liked the case. Well the zipper broke and it was falling apart from use.
So I had to find an alternative to store my tools used with my die cutters. Here's what I came up with.

It is has double sided storage. It is a quilling tool kit case. I really like it. I like how it keeps everything together. There are 3 storage sections for storing regular blades, deep cut blades and the blade housing.
They fit perfectly in there. I also have room to get the scoring tip housing. It's a nice way to keep everything together.

Decorating Your Storage Boxes

 I have been trying to think of some creative ways of leaving my storage containers out in the open. And have them as decorative accents for my Craft Room. Pictured below I decorated envelope boxes and made them apart of my room decor. This gives me a nice decorative storage place for small items. In the bottom box pictured on the right I have my embossing folders stored. The top 2 boxes are envelope storage and the small box to the left is also envelope storage.

Supplies:

Mod Podge Binderie Decorative Pattern Paper Krylon Clear Glaze Spray

Directions:

I altered the lid of the box by cutting the sides of the cover shorter.
I used Mod Podged on the paper to adhere it to the box.
I sealed the paper with Krylon Clear Glaze Spray.
I used my binderie to drill holes in the lids of the boxes to add a bow.
They are a cute addition to my Craft Room.

Cricut Cartridge Storage Ideas

If you have been following along with me I have been organizing my craft room. It has become quite a big job for me. But, I am making progress.

Here is a look at some past and present or Cricut Cartridge Organization Ideas.


This is the present way I am storing my cartridges.  I keep my handbooks and Cartridges seperate because most times I am not using the handbooks. I have been using the Cricut Imagine, Gypsy or Cricut Craftroom and the Cricut Mini to make up my projects. I have most of the digital handbooks downloaded from Cricut.com so I mainly look at the digital handbooks.

I store my cartridges in bead boxes.

I have the ends all labeled as to which cartridges are in what boxes.

I laminated the sheets and adhered them on the box with adhesive back Velcro.

This is so if I want to change on how I have the cartridge organized.

I can easily remove the label from the end of the box and make a new label.

This is a sample sheet of the cartridges listed at the end of the box.

Each box is numbered and listed in order to the section of the box they are in.

This is how I store my handbooks.

They are filed away in alphabetic order. I really like them filed so they are easy to find.

The are stored by my table with a hide-away table skirt in front of the storage.

I don't like all my stuff out in the open. So this is really working out for me well.

I store my Imagine cartridge in these altered Creative Options boxes. They fit nicely in there.

I had to cut away some sections of the box to add handbook store to the box.

This is really working out nicely for me.

I know everyone has their own needs on how they want to store things.

These are just some Ideas on how I am doing it.

This is the old way I used to store my cartridges.

This storage system was ok.

But, I didn't like digging through 8 heavy containers trying to find my cartridges.

This is why I went and with smaller containers and seperating the handbooks.

Prior to this storage system I used to store my cartridges like this.

I used baby food containers to seperate my cartridges and the containers were hot glued together.

I was able to fit my handbooks in alphabetic order in these boxes.

I went away from this storage Idea. 

 I found the boxes especially with the books were heavy and not easily moved around.

I do like this way of storing by keeping cartridges and handbooks seperate.

Craft Table Skirts - The Easy Way

 I made 2 craft table skirts today and it is very easy to do. I first picked up some Kitchen curtains, hooks and curtain rods. They were 36" long so I had to hem them up to fit my tables 30" high.  I'm not really a sewer but I can do some basics. This was just a straight stitch across. I folded the fabric from the top 2 times where the rod pockets are since I couldn't hem the from the bottom. I sewed at the edge of the fabric keeping the rod pockets in tack so I could still use them. I drilled holes in my table and screwed in the hooks. I attached the rods and slide on the curtains.  Easy, Easy! I was surprised it really didn't take all that long.
