Making Fabric Flowers With Your Die Cut Machine Tutorial

Here's the fall fabric flowers I made.

I'm going to show you how I made them.

First I ironed on HeatnBond - Ultra Hold to the back of my fabric.

It is a 17x12 Sheet. I did have to iron the fabric first so it was nice and smooth.

You don't want any wrinkles, creases or bunched up fabric.

If that happens it won't cut right in your Die Cut Machine.

See how it makes it nice a stiff. You want your fabric stiff in order to cut it.

Some people use liquid stiffeners. I chose to use Heat n Bond.

Here you have to peel off the backing before you place it on the mat.

You can see the backing in the first picture.

Next I put my fabric on a super sticky mat.

You also want to make sure you put in a new blade in your machine.

The settings I used were pressure 5 and speed at 2 on my Imagine.

I cut the flower out at 4.5"

Here's the negative of the cut. 

Here's the spiral flower.

I just took my stylus and rolled the flower toward me.

With the front side of the fabric up.

I don't want the heat n bond side to be showing.

Now that I have it rolled. I'm going to let the flower loosen up.

Let it uncurl. You may have to fuss with it a bit to help it loosen up.

Now I have my flower loosened up to where I like it.

Hot glue the flower to the bottom circular part of the flower.

I think you can see it ok where I put the glue.

This is the finished flower

You can put what ever you want in the center of the flower.

The maroon flowers I didn't put a center in.

I think it looks great either way.

I stamped the flourishes on the Title and background papers.

I'm working on getting caught up on my scrapbooking. I did 10 pages in 2 days! Yay!

Quilled Sea Horse Card

I've been quilling away here and I have another card for you.

I used the Create A Critter Cartridge.

The designer paper is Splash Dance paper by Imaginisce.

I thought the rub ons went really well with this card.

I am having so much fun quilling my die cuts. Here's a ladybug card I did this afternoon.

The Ladybug is from Create A Critter Cartridge Cut at 1".

Paper Quilling With Create A Critter Cartridge

I saw some paper quilling kits. I have some paper quilling supplies here. So I thought why not paper quill with some die cut images. So I looked through my Create A Critter handbook and came up with a couple of animals to quill.

First I used my Gypsy to flood fill the colors I wanted from the Create A Critter cartridge.

I cut them out on my imagine at 3-1/2".

Next I used the die cuts as a template for quilling this butterfly.

Now I have the quilling done and it is ready to be assembled to the base of the butterfly.

I used  dimensional

 to pop up the butterfly wings

Before I placed the wings on the base of the butterfly

I ran the wings through my Sizzix big shot and embossed the wings.

Next I placed the wings on the base of the butterfly.

Next I glued in the quilled papers.

I used dimensionals to pop up the butterflies body.

I used glossy accents over the embossed area to pop out the embossing.

Here's the giraffe I did with Create A Critter Cartridge.

I cut this at 4".

Here are these 2 cuties together.

It really didn't take all that long.

I am not a professional quiller.

Actually this is my first try using my quilling supplies.

We are having a lovely spring day.

Everything is in bloom and smells so good.

Floral Card

I amaze myself sometimes how working with different products I get totally different results. I am liking the results I am getting from Tim Holtz and Sizzix products.

This card was made with the Tim Holtz tattered floral die.

The papers I used are from the Mariposa Stack by DCWV.

I used a florish stamp set to make the florishes. I don't remember the name of it.
